Frequently asked questions about NUMIQ
Prices and the construction price list
It depends on the view. You can switch between labour only and labour + materials. By default you see the labour rate per unit (m², lm, pcs, hr).
Materials are added in the estimate based on quantities and chosen quality - the Calculator works them out for you. Travel, rubble removal, scaffolding or day-work go in as separate items, listed under each trade.
All prices are shown excluding VAT. Many tradespeople are not VAT-registered, so for a private client that is usually the final price. VAT-registered businesses add VAT on top of the same amount.
Work between two VAT-registered businesses may fall under reverse charge - check with your accountant.
Labour costs are not the same everywhere - capital cities and tourist hotspots are more expensive than rural areas. Once you enter a city, NUMIQ adjusts the rates to the region automatically. You can see the current region above the price list and change it at any time.
Prices come from ongoing market research: construction wage data, real price lists and quotes from tradespeople, and standard labour productivity for each item. The result reflects the trade (electrical and gas work need more qualification than painting) and the region.
They are guide prices - a specific job can differ depending on the property, access, timing and scope.
Continuously. Each category shows the date of its last update. When the market moves sharply (season, material price rises) we make extra adjustments. If a price looks off, tell us the trade and region.
The "from" price is the starting rate per unit under standard conditions. Difficult access, small quantities, non-standard solutions or rush jobs usually cost more. In your estimate you can adjust every item to fit the real job.
A linear metre (lm) measures length - 1 lm = 1 metre, regardless of width or height. It is used where m² makes no sense: skirting boards, sealant joints, cable chases, window sills, gutters or kerbs.
Example: a 4 × 3 m room has a 14 m perimeter, so roughly 14 lm of skirting (minus the door width).
m² - area (painting, tiling, flooring), lm - linear metre (skirting, chases, gutters), m³ - volume (excavation, concrete), pcs - piece (toilet, switch, door installation), hr - hourly work (cleaning, day-work), t - tonne (rubble removal, rebar), km - travel.
On the free FREE plan, prices for selected, mostly specialist work are locked. Unlock every price on START or higher, or one-off with OPEN - 5 € for 5 days. All other prices are free to use.
Click the pencil next to the item and enter your own price - everything recalculates instantly. To save your own price list permanently and use it in every estimate, sign up for free.
For homeowners - renovating a flat or house
Yes. Pick the trade and city, enter quantities (m², lm, pcs) and you instantly get a guide labour price, with materials if you like. Compare it with the quote you received. Small differences are normal - experience, the state of the property and timing all play a part. If the gap is big, ask what exactly the price covers.
To see locked items too, a one-off OPEN pass for 5 € for 5 days is enough - no subscription.
No. To plan a renovation budget or check a quote, use OPEN: for 5 € every price is unlocked for 5 days. START, PRO and MAX are for tradespeople who send quotes regularly.
No, NUMIQ does not broker tradespeople. The prices will help you build a budget and judge the quotes you get.
Do not compare on price alone. Check references and reviews, photos of past work, whether the quote breaks down labour and materials, and whether the tradesperson keeps to agreed dates.
It depends on the scope - strip-out, water and electrical runs, waterproofing, wall and floor tiling, and fitting the sanitaryware. In the Calculator choose Bathroom, enter dimensions and fittings, and get an itemised budget for labour and materials. Individual prices are also in the Bathroom section of the price list.
For tradespeople - estimates and quotes
NUMIQ is a project calculator for tradespeople and small building firms. It helps you price a job, work out materials and labour hours, and turn the estimate into a professional quote with one click - which your client can accept online. It covers a wide range of trades, from painting and flooring to tiling, electrical and plumbing, paving, carpentry and roofing metalwork.
The Calculator walks you through the project step by step - from strip-out to finishing. Choose a room or trade, enter the city and answer a few questions about the scope. It then calculates labour and materials from 50+ ready-made assemblies and productivity rates, flags missing items and highlights risks worth keeping a contingency for.
Generate a quote from any estimate or straight from the price list. It includes a breakdown of labour and materials, terms and schedule, your logo, company details and reviews. Send it by email, as a unique link or as a PDF.
